36a

As you arrive and park, you will see the carport which is the main church entrance. If you are handicap or struggle with stairs this is one of two great places to enter our building.

If you go through the main entrance, inside on the left there is an enclosed lift. Also, there is a concrete pad behind the church accompanied by a door that leads directly into the front of the auditorium. When you come into the building, someone will greet you and help direct you if you need help deciding or finding a small group class if it is during our Sunday School time or give you a copy of our weekly bulletin if you have come for one of our worship services.

At Fresno Bible Church, we have two different events happening on Sunday morning. At 9:00 we have a time of small group Bible Studies and at 10:00 we have our primary worship service. Dress is always casual. You will find that our congregation wears anything from suits to shorts. You are welcome in whatever you feel like wearing.

Sunday School-Small Groups

If you have children with you they can, of course, stay with you, if you prefer. However, we do have small group classes for all ages. Our nursery (ages 0-2) is located straight ahead down stairs as you enter through the main doors. Our preschool (ages 3-5), children's (first-sixth grade), are located in various parts of the building and our greeters would be happy to walk you and your children to their classroom. The youth ministry (seventh-twelfth grade) is also located straight ahead down stairs as you enter through the main doors. There will be greeters available to help you find the small group that is just right for you.

Worship Service

At 10:00 we meet in the auditorium upstairs (take the stairs located at the main entrance) for our main 5worship service. If you have children, they are welcome to attend or worship service with you, or they may attend the nursery at any time (Birth - 2), or wait until after the song set and go to Jr. Church (ages 3-5), or Jr. Church (K-3rd grade). We also have a foyer located at the back of the auditorium with seating, full view of the service, flat screen for media and of course sound. The foyer also has a restroom with a changing table for your convenience. As you enter the auditorium, a greeter will hand you an order of worship. This is similar to a program that would be received at a theatre. It simply lists an outline of the service, a few announcements, contact information and has an outline of the sermon in it to help you follow along. Please feel free to sit anywhere you like. If you need special assistance for any reason please ask one of the greeters.

We typically include the following items in our worship service.

  • Greeting
  • Announcements
  • Scripture reading and prayer that brings focus to our service and singing
  • Congregational Singing (3 to 4 songs)
  • Offering (solo or group sings during this time)
  • Message
  • Closing Song

Greeting

The service always kicks off with a welcome from the pastor and recognition of important things like new babies or birthdays.

Prayer Time

We pray together as a congregation several times during the worship service. Each of these prayers are led by one of our staff or a member of our church. Under no circumstances will you be asked to pray out loud.

Congregational Singing

This is the time that we offer praise and worship to God. Some of the songs will be sung by the congregation and some will be sung by individuals or small groups. Instrumental accompaniment is normally provided by live instruments (piano, keyboard, guitars, drums, etc.) or by prerecorded audio. The words for the songs we sing are provided via modern overhead projectors. We usually stand as we sing. If you are not sure what to do, just follow everyone else or, if you prefer, you can just remain seated throughout the service. You are under no obligation to join in any of the singing or even to like the music. We work hard at putting together song sets that are blended and minister to the whole church! So we sing old hymns, new hymns, choruses, older praise songs, brand new praise songs and even songs that we have written.

Offering

You are not expected to contribute to the work of the church (that's our responsibility), so don't feel embarrassed to pass the collection plate on without putting anything in it. Many church members contribute on alternate weeks, so you won't be the only one just passing the plate on.

Message

Each week a sermon is preached by our senior pastor. This message is a time of teaching our congregation how a specific passage from the Bible applies to our lives. The sermon outline can be found in your bulletin, and the blanks to be filled in will appear on the screens in the front of the auditorium and foyer.

We also have some midweek services that are a vital part of our church.

Prayer Meeting

This is a group of adults that gather each Wednesday night from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. They enjoy a time of catching up on people and situations that need specific prayer and also pray for things like each other and our country.

AWANA

FBC is pleased to offer AWANA Bible Club for kids from 4years old to 6th grade on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.. "Consistent presentation of the Bible, Bible memory, circle games, evangelistic focus, and great leadership training," are just a few high points of this exciting Bible Club for kids.

Youth Ministry

We also meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Every week students find a great place to plug in with friends who have a passion for Jesus Christ. They come to experience exciting competitions, great praise music, Bible truths for real life, and small groups where we challenge each other to grow spiritually and go impact lives for Christ. Students can hang with their friends and enjoy games, fun, fellowship, and food.

FYI: Our youth ministry not only meets on Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night but we also do really fun monthly activities, outreaches missions trips and service projects! Check out some of our photos here on our website or go to our Facebook page and see for yourself!
